Important Grooming Tips

To ensure their best coats, goldendoodles need to be groomed approximately every 3-4 months. Regular brushing will help keep fur soft, and trimming short during summer months will help with heat and keep maintenance on coat down.

Trim eyes monthly ( X across the bridge of the nose toward eyes)

Use whisper nail grinder to trim nails

Groom yourself, or take to a groomer approximately every 3 months.

Keep your pup brushed daily or every other day to keep knots out.

Inspect them when they come back in for debris in fur or ticks.

Use Shears (Scaredy Cut scissors) to trim knots and tangles.

Deodorizing spray to keep smelling fresh in-between grooming

Deodorizing wipes to help clean up if they get any feces or urine on themselves.

The following is a list of products that we use to keep our dogs looking their best!

Clippers

We use Andis ACG2 Clippers on our dogs. They are the same ones that we started with in 2012. If you take care of them they will last! For our Goldendoodles, we clip them at a #4 for their body, and a #30 or #10 for the underbody & feet.

Slicker Brush

We recommend a Self-Cleaning Slicker brush which can be used to detangle and make the coat super fluffy. As with the shears, there are plenty of options to choose from!

Clipper Spray

Clipper spray is a MUST. It keeps the blades on your clippers *COOL*, lubricated, blows hair out of your clippers, prevents rusting, and acts as a disinfectant. We use Andis Cool Care Plus Clipper Blade Cleaner.

They are a very common item and can be found:

This product is great for those dogs that have stinky ears, have recently had a bath or have played in the water. It has a great scent that naturally eliminates any odor from the ears. Must use the Dry formula after the Wash.
