Puppy Visit-- What to Expact

We will send our address the day before the puppy visit occurs. We have had families show up unexpectedly before, so this is our way to ensure that doesn't happen. This will get you within 2 minutes from our house.

Each 1 hour puppy visit takes place inside our home so we ask you are courteous and respectful while here. We also ask you are on-time. We run a farm, 2 non-profits and a few other things that keep us pretty busy. We schedule our day around the puppy visit, so we ask if something does come up, let us know.  Whether you're going to be late or cannot make it, please let us know when you do and we can schedule a better day/time, or face-time.

Keep in mind:

Puppy choices will be determined on a first-come, first-served basis upon receipt of deposit. If a puppy of your preference is not born, your deposit will be transferred to another litter. The first family visit for puppy selection will occur at four weeks of age. Families will be allowed to reserve a one-hour time slot to visit with the puppies and make their selections. This process will occur in the order that deposits were received. Any family unable to visit our farm in person will be allowed time over the phone, video chat, and provided photos to help determine their puppy pick. Mountain Spring Doodles reserves the right to the first pick of every litter. In the event we forgo our pick, each family will rise one rank in the pick list You will also recieve a Tips and Tricks packet to ensure you have all you need for your puppy transition to be smooth.

If you have children that would like to also come to pick the puppy out please read the following: **Some of the things listed should go without being said, but we have run into the problems in the past, so this helps us to prevent any further incidents.

1. They remain in the puppy area and not wander around or run around our house.

2. SIT while holding the puppies.

3. If they have not handled a puppy of this size in the past, just let us know and we would be happy to show them how to hold the puppies the safest and most comfortable way.

Before you arrive, this is what takes place:

1. Each available puppy, or the puppies you've requested will be bathed and dried.  *We do not allow families to handle dogs with deposits.

2. I set a play pin up in our kitchen equipped with pee-pads, toys and a small covered cage with a blanket. Once the puppies are cleaned and dried they are moved to this area until the families get here.

Once you arrive:

1. Anyone that would like to hold a puppy, wash their hands. Our sink is right next to the puppy area so it is very convenient. We also have a stool available for children.

2. After your hands are clean you may hold the puppies. With Children sitting while holding them.

3. You may take photographs, videos, face-time, or any other suitable manner for recording memories. You may bring a collar or any accessories you may have to see the current size/fit. PLEASE ask questions. We will give you our Tips and Tricks puppy info sheet (only available in home-- not on website) and this should help answer most questions, but we are always available.

4. No payment is due until final pick-up at 8 weeks old.

5. Once you choose which puppy is going to be your new furmily member we then figure out the remainder, pick-up date and will record on the Tips and Tricks packet.

6. We will then bring mom out for you to meet, for if she is out during the puppy visit, the pups will only want to nurse and not pay any attention to the visiting family.

7. If dad is on-site we will also bring him for you to meet.

8. This will conclude our visit, please ask any questions you may have and we will see you with final payment at 8 weeks.
